Chris Pig & Fernando Feijoo collaborated together in the production of this piece of work. Chris started off drawing his part of the work onto special drawing film and then sent it to Fernando to complete with his characters within the scene that had been drawn. This was the first time both artists had worked together on a print and it taught them about personal working styles and practice.
The British Queen represents a certain kind of British pub and the kinds of characters you might come across if you were to stumble into some back street local. It was interesting using a range of mark making techniques on the film before it was passed to lithographic plate and printed on summerset velvet paper with five different impressions printed in order to achieve the full tonal range.
